SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 10/21/2025, at approximately 0849 hours the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover on VT RT 100 in Lowell, VT. Upon arrival it was learned the occupants of the vehicle fled the crash scene on foot and were later located on Carter Road. The operator was identified as Skylar Bergeron, 35. Bergeron first provided Troopers a false name.

 

Investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling north on RT 100 and went off the roadway to the left and struck and damaged a portion of a driveway and a guy wire to a utility pole. Further investigation revealed Bergeron’s license to operate a motor vehicle was criminally suspended, he had active court ordered conditions of release to not operate a motor vehicle and also had an active warrant for his arrest. The female passenger was transported from the scene by Newport EMS for non-life-threatening injuries. Bergeron was taken into custody and transported to the Derby Barracks where he was processed for Crash – Duty to stop, Violation Conditions of Release, Operating After Suspension or Revocation of License, False Reports to Law Enforcement and was issued numerous traffic tickets. Prior to Bergeron being lodged at Northern State for his warrant he was medically cleared at North Country Hospital for minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

 

Lowell Fire, Newport Ambulance, Vermont Electric Coop. and M&A Auto assisted at the scene.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On October 21, 2025, at approximately 0058 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks responded to the intersection of Country Club Road and Forest Dale Road in the Town of Brandon for a report of a single-vehicle crash into a utility pole. It was reported that the operator was unresponsive, and members of Green Mountain Power were performing CPR upon Troopers' arrival.

Members of the Brandon Fire Department, Brandon Rescue, Regional Ambulance Service, and the Vermont State Police responded to the scene.

 

The investigation determined that Vehicle #1 was traveling south on Forest Dale Road when it exited the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole. The vehicle came to an uncontrolled position of rest off the west side of the road. Alcohol is presumed to be a contributing factor in the crash.

 

The operator was transported from the scene by Brandon Rescue and was later pronounced deceased by medical staff at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On October 21, 2025, at approximately 0804 hours, Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were notified of a car vs deer crash on Interstate 91 S MM95.5 in Fairlee. The operator, Nancy Leonard, was travelling south in her Acura RDX when a deer entered the roadway. Leonard was unable to avoid a collision with the deer.

 

No injuries were reported and Bradford Auto Worx towed the vehicle from the scene. Troopers were assisted by members of Upper Valley Ambulance, Fairlee Fire Department, and Fairlee PD.

SUMMARY OF CRASH: On October 21, 2025, at approximately 0807 hours, Troopers assigned to the Williston Barracks responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on the southbound side of I-89 near exit 16 in the Town of Colchester. Subsequent investigation determined that the operator of vehicle #1, Colby Bushey (29) of Swanton, VT, rear ended vehicle #2 due to slowed/stopped traffic.

The Interstate was reduced to one lane for approximately 1.5 hours while crews worked to clear the involved vehicles from the roadway. The Vermont State Police was assisted on scene by the Colchester Fire Department, Saint Michael's Fire Department, and Tailhook Towing.

Bushey was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint (VCVC) pursuant to Title 23 VSA 1039 (Following Too Closely-Accident Resulting) which carries a waiver penalty of $220 and 5 points.

SUMMARY OF CRASH: On October 21, 2025, at approximately 1012 hours, Troopers assigned to the Williston Barracks responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on the northbound side of I-89 near exit 14 in the Town of South Burlington. Preliminary investigation into the collision determined that Deputy Welch of the Chittenden County Sherrif's Department was operating a fully marked police cruiser with its blue emergency lights activated. Deputy Welch was conducting a rolling roadblock in the area due to ongoing construction. Deputy Welch merged into the left lane when he was subsequently side swiped by vehicle #2, which was a UPS delivery truck, operated by Shane Grant (26) of Colchester, VT.

The Interstate was reduced to one lane for approximately 1 hour while crews worked to clear the involved vehicles from the roadway. The Vermont State Police was assisted on scene by the Chittenden County Sherrif's Department and Spillaine's Towing.

SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 10/21/2025, at approximately 0656 hours, The Vermont State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Broad Street near Red Village Road in Lyndonville, VT. Investigation revealed that a juvenile operator was travelling south on Broad Street when they struck Tiffany Densmore (43), who was walking on the roadway. Densmore suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was subsequently transported to the Northeast Vermont Regional Hospital. The circumstances that led to the collision are still under investigation.

 

The Vermont State Police was assisted by the Lyndonville Police Department, Lyndon Rescue, and the Lyndonville Fire Department.

The operator Skye Mulligan (45) of Burke, was traveling south when her vehicle hydroplaned, and she lost control. Mulligan's vehicle left the east side of the road and rolled over coming to rest back on its tires. Mulligan reported no injuries. State Troopers were assisted by Wells River Fire Department and Woodsville Ambulance responded. Precision Towing responded and removed the vehicle.

Investigation revealed that Trudeau had caused both harm and fear to a household member. Ultimately, Trudeau was taken into custody and transported to the New Haven Barracks for processing. At the conclusion of processing, Trudeau was lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center and issued a citation to appear at the Addison County Superior Court on 10/21/2025 at 1230 hours.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 10/20/2025, at approximately 1043 hours, the Vermont State Police – Westminster Barracks responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 Northbound in the area of mile marker 46.5, in the town of Springfield, Vermont. The investigation determined that the operator, Tyler J. Dobbins-Ackerly, 18, of Winsted, CT, was traveling north when the vehicle began to hydroplane on the wet roadway surface. The vehicle subsequently struck the guardrail, which caused it to ricochet across the interstate into the opposite guardrail and then came to rest in the passing lane. The vehicle sustained totaling damage. The operator, Dobbins-Ackerly sustained suspected minor injuries, he was transported to Springfield Hospital by the Springfield Ambulance. Springfield Fire Department also assisted on scene. The vehicle was removed from the roadway by Benny’s Towing.

On 10/12/25 at approximately 0824 hrs, Troopers with the Vermont State Police responded to an attempted burglary at the Carrara’s Gun Shop in Shrewsbury, VT. Upon arrival, the back door had pry marks and boot prints. After reviewing video footage, the suspect was identified as having a crowbar and attempted entry into the gun shop. Over $500 in damage was done to the exterior of the store when entry was attempted. A photo of the suspect was obtained through security footage and spread through social media by the shop owner. A suspect was identified by members of the public and confirmed by law enforcement as Ean Bruno.

Bruno was located by Troopers and charged with the above violations. Bruno was issued a criminal citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court – Criminal Division on 12/15/2025 at 1000 hours. Bruno is currently being held at Marble Valley Correctional Facility on related Probation Violations.

On October 19, 2025, at approximately 1800 hours, the Vermont State Police St Albans barracks was dispatched to a report of a male who shot someone with a BB gun.  The juvenile victim advised that, Cody Morgan, age 20 of Alburgh, shot a BB gun at them and was struck in the arm by the BB. Morgan also violated his court ordered conditions of release by being threatening and possessing a dangerous weapon. Morgan was issued a citation for violation of conditions of release and simple assault.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 10/20/2025, at approximately 0842 hours, the Vermont State Police – Westminster Barracks responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on the Interstate 91 Southbound Exit 3 On Ramp, in the town of Brattleboro, Vermont. The investigation revealed that the operator, Nyah Cavanaugh, 18, of Putney, Vermont, was traveling too fast for the wet roadway conditions. While negotiating a curve, the vehicle hydroplaned, left the travel lane, and came to rest in the median. No other vehicles were involved. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene by Brattleboro Towing. Speed and roadway conditions were contributing factors in the crash.
