SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On the above date and approximate time, VSP Derby Troopers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Walker Lane in Barton.  Upon arrival, a Ford F350 occupied by Sabens was located.  Indicators of criminal activity were observed at the scene, and the vehicle was seizing pending search warrant application.

 

A search warrant was later executed on the vehicle and quantities of fentanyl and crack cocaine were located, along with large-capacity rifle magazines, multiple firearms, and evidence of drug distribution.  As a result of this investigation, Sabens is due in court on 10/13/26 to answer to the above offenses, and was additionally arrested by VT Department of Corrections Probation and Parole.

On the above date and time, VSP Derby Troopers responded to a report of a disorderly person in the area of Main Street in North Troy.   With the assistance of US Border Patrol Agents and Newport Police Officers, the subject was located in the area and identified as Alexander.

 

Subsequent investigation revealed Alexander had damaged an individuals parked motor vehicle, vandalized a municipal sign, and behaved in a disorderly and tumultuous manner in a public place.  Alexander was detained at the scene and cited to appear in court on 11/17/26 to answer to above offenses.

Troopers stationed out of the Berlin Barracks responded to Waterbury and spoke with the victim, who reported having been held against her will and assaulted. Troopers located the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Sean Bacon, and took him into custody on suspicion of first degree aggravated domestic assault, first degree unlawful restraint, and aggravated sexual assault. Bacon was ordered held without bail pending arraignment, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, in Washington County criminal court in Barre.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On September 13th, 2026, at approximately 0259 hours, the Vermont State Police were dispatched to the report of an automated iPhone crash notification near the intersection of VT Rt 109 and Bog Rd in Belvidere. Troopers and Deputies responded and determined through preliminary investigation that Vehicle 1, a 2015 Ram 1500, had failed to navigate the curve in the road traveling South on VT Rt 118, departed the roadway, and overturned upon collision with a tree.

 

The operator was identified as a Juvenile, 17, of Fairfax. While speaking with the operator, indicators of impairment were detected, and the Juvenile was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. The operator was transported to Copley Hospital for evaluation and ultimately released with a citation to appear in the Lamoille County Superior Court at a later date.

 

Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by the Lamoille County Sheriff's Department, Johnson Fire Department, and Northern EMS.
