After further investigation it was revealed Christian Laflamme (23) had assaulted Elijah Cassidy (24) causing him physical harm. Cassidy was checked by CALEX EMS services and was cleared. Laflamme was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing. Laflamme was later cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on May 2, 2024, at 1230 hours for the aforementioned charges.

Troopers located the vehicle traveling south on Interstate 89 near exit 6 in the town of Berlin. Troopers matched the registration plate provided. Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop on the suspected vehicle. The operator was identified as Zachary Cook of Burlington. Cook was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Berlin State Police Barracks for processing.  Cook was issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court - Criminal Division and released.

Troopers arrived on scene and served a pending restraining order on one of the involved parties, Steven Corbett. Corbett immediately violated the restraining order after being served. Corbett was arrested and he resisted arrest. Additional investigation revealed that he alleged attempted to run the victim of the restraining order, off the roadway earlier in the day. Corbett was transported and processed at the Berlin Barracks. At the conclusion of processing, Corbett was lodged at Northeast Correctional Regional Facility without bail.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On April 29th a resident on Gage Road in the Town of Bethel notified the Vermont State Police that his vehicle was stolen from his residence. The resident identified his vehicle as a Black GMC Sierra bearing VT TRK REG: 126A490.  On April 30th, the owner of the vehicle was notified by multiple people that Branden J. Messier (DOB: 08/24/1992) stole his truck. In addition, VSP Royalton Troopers located the vehicle at a residence in the Town of Randolph. Branden fled in the truck from the Troopers into downtown Randolph onto the railroad tracks. Later, a citizen reported that the vehicle was seen at an abandoned property in the Town of Braintree. Troopers went to the residence and located the vehicle. The vehicle eluded Troopers again. VSP Royalton is looking for information on the location of Branden J. Further investigation revealed the operator, Niyati Khanduri, was driving down the road and lost control of her vehicle causing her vehicle to slide and roll over onto its driver side. SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On April 30th, at approximately 1300 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police – St Albans Barracks were notified of a theft from a farm on Branon Rd in Fairfield VT. Investigation revealed that a 2018 Bighorn 36-foot 5th wheel camper (approximate retail value of $58,000) was stolen from the location at some point during the month of April. SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 01/01/2024, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks responded to a fatal drug overdose in South Royalton, Windsor County, Vermont. As the investigation progressed, it was discovered that Karen Kill had removed the decedent’s personal belongings prior to the arrival of the police and had made false statements to the authorities. On 04/29/2024, Karen Kill was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windsor Criminal Division on 05/21/2024 at 0800 hours to answer to the charges.
