SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On October 3rd, 2026, at approximately 1900 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police - St. Albans Barracks attempted to contact Eric Benware (44) to follow up with an ongoing case.
Eric Benware (44) arrived at the residence with Jacob Leach (29) while Troopers were on scene. Both Benware and Leach were known by Troopers to have active warrants for their arrest. Benware and Leach were taken into custody and transported to Northwest State Correctional Facility in the Town of St. Albans and were both held on $200 bail.
Benware and Leach were additionally issued flash citations ordering them to appear before the Franklin County Criminal Court on October 5th, 2026, at 1300 hours.
The active warrant for Benware was for the following charge:
DISORDERLY CONDUCT- FIGHT

DUI #1 – DRUG, ALCOHOL, OR BOTH
