SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 10/28/2026 the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks received a call advising that a vehicle was driving erratically on Interstate 89 northbound. Troopers from the VSP Royalton Barracks conducted a traffic stop with that vehicle on VT Route 107 in the town of Bethel for observed violations. While interacting with the operator, identified as David Slayton (43) of Randolph, VT, Troopers observed indicators of impairment. Slayton was placed under arrest without incident, transported to the Royalton Barracks, and released with a criminal citation to appear in court at the below date, time, and location to answer to the charge of Driving Under the Influence.
