SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On September 29, 2026, at approximately 2111 hours, Troopers
from the Vermont State Police Berlin Barracks responded to an injury crash
involving two motor vehicles. The investigation is still on-going. There are no
further details at this time. Markstrom was transported by ambulance to
University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
This crash occurred on VT Route
100 near the Kingsbury Bridge Greenway Trail access, between Airport Road and
Sugarbush Access Road. Vermont State Police were assisted by Mad River
Valley Ambulance and the Warren and Waitsfield Fire Departments. The roadway
was closed for approximately two hours. Initial investigation indicated that
Vehicle 1 crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and collided with
Vehicle 2. The operator of Vehicle 1 is receiving treatment for serious
injuries at University of Vermont Medical Center.
