Vermont State Police apprehends man after incident in Groton

 

GROTON, Vermont (Friday, July 17, 2026) — The Vermont State Police took a man into custody Friday evening, July 17, 2026, following reports that he had injured a family member with a weapon before running into nearby woods.

 

A heavy police presence remains in the area after troopers located and apprehended the man at about 5:45 p.m. There is no danger to the public.
