On 09-04-25, with the help of the public the offender was identified as Robert Witham.  Contact was made with Witham, and he was issued a citation to appear in the Franklin County Court on 10-28-25 for Retail Theft.

 

On 08-12-25, at approximately 1328 hours, an older white male with grayish hair, wearing a blue long sleeve coat, and baseball cap, stole several items from the Georgia Village Market.  Attached is a photograph of the suspect. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to call the State Police in St. Albans.

The incident does not appear suspicious, though there are concerns for Bakriges' welfare as he is a vulnerable adult.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, the Vermont State Police Drug Task Force and the Brattleboro Police Department arrested Shane Farrell, 55, of Brattleboro. The arrest stemmed from a months-long drug investigation conducted by detectives with the Vermont Drug Task Force into the distribution of fentanyl and cocaine from 39 Garfield Dr. in Brattleboro.

 

The Vermont Drug Task Force investigation involved the use of confidential informants who purchased fentanyl and cocaine from Farrell on six separate occasions. Farrell was processed at the Brattleboro Police Department before being transported to and jailed at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield.

 

Farrell’s bail on the drug sales charges was set at $50,000. He is due to appear for arraignment at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Brattleboro.

 

The Vermont Drug Task Force thanks the Brattleboro Police Department for their assistance in these investigations.

 

Farrell is being prosecuted by the Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office. Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Vermont State Police at 802-722-4600 or submit a tip anonymously via https://vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit.

 

No further information is available at this time. The affidavit of probable cause will be filed with the court and made public following Farrell’s arraignment.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On April 15, 2025, Detectives with the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations, assigned to the New Haven Barracks, began an investigation into an incident that occurred on January 14, 2025. After a lengthy investigation, it was determined that Carson P. Bertrand, 21, of Whiting, VT, and Brandon R. Yandow, 28, of Castleton, VT committed the offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault by having nonconsensual sexual contact with an adult victim. Investigation also revealed Bertrand had nonconsensual sexual contact with a second victim on the same date.

 

On September 2, 2025, Yandow was issue a citation at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility to appear before the Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division om September 4, 2025. On September 3, 2025, Bertrand turned himself in at the Vermont State Police New Haven Barracks. Bertrand was processed and transported to the Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division for arraignment. Bertrand was ultimately ordered to be held without bail and was lodged at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.

On the above date and time, Troopers with the Berlin Barracks received a report of a two-vehicle crash in the area of Waterbury Stowe Rd and Gregg Hill Rd in Waterbury Center. Subsequent investigation revealed Sarah Hill (25) of Putney, VT, was traveling north on Waterbury Stowe Rd in a 2019 Toyota Rav4. Investigation further revealed Jeanette Fisher (66) of Morristown, VT, was traveling south on Waterbury Stowe Rd in a 2021 Ram 1500. Hill crossed the center lane divider, crossing into the southbound lane. Subsequently, hitting Fisher’s vehicle.

On the above date and time, Trooper responded to Buck Hill in Westfield for a one car crash. Investigation determined Jason Belisle was driving his truck on Buck Hill when he experienced a medical event and drove off the road striking several trees. Belisle was extricated from the vehicle by members of the Troy Fire Department and was transported by Newport EMS to North Country Hospital. Belisle suffered moderate injuries in the crash.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 09/02/25 at approximately 2225 hours Vermont State Police were called to 5148 US RT 7, Dorset, for a Domestic Disturbance.

 

Troopers later arrived on scene and made contact with the residents at that address and began investigating the incident. During the investigation, Troopers learned Mark Johnson had struck a household member with a wooden kitchen spoon, causing pain as well as leaving a mark on their face.

 

Investigation also revealed Johnson had threated bodily harm to the same household member via text messages after they had left the scene to get away from the situation.

 

Johnson was taken into custody for Domestic Assault and Criminal Threatening. The charge of Domestic Assault was later upgraded to Second Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault in accordance with Title 23, VSA 1044, subsection 2 (B), due to previous convictions of Domestic Assault.

 

Johnson was later ordered to be held without bail by the Honorable Judge Jennifer Barrett and was remanded to the Marble Valley Correctional Facility.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: 


On the above date and time, Troopers from the Vermont State Police - Royalton Barracks conducted a traffic stop for observed violations near the intersection of VT Route 12 and Windover Road in the town of Randolph, county of Orange, Vermont. While speaking with the operator, identified as Facundo Dominguez-Quinto, age 37 of Barre, VT, Troopers observed indicators of impairment. Following investigation, Dominguez-Quinto was placed under arrest for driving under the influence, transported to the Royalton Barracks for processing, and released with a criminal citation to appear at the Vermont Superior Court - Criminal (Orange) Division at the below date/time for the charge of DUI.
