SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On the evening of January 31st, 2025, at approximately 2115 hours, Troopers from the St. Albans Barracks were conducting patrol on N Main St in the town of Montgomery when a vehicle being operated by Jason Stanhope (49) of Montgomery, VT committed a motor vehicle violation. Troopers initiated a traffic stop on N Main St and during the investigation, it was found that Stanhope’s VT Driver’s License was under criminal suspension. Stanhope was also found to have an active warrant for his arrest.

 

Per the order of the courts, Stanhope was issued a flash citation for February 3rd, 2025,at 1300 hours in regard to the warrant and a citation for March 17th, 2025, at 1000 hours in regard to the DLS charge. The active warrant contained charges of:

 

23 VSA 674(a)(1) Misdemeanor 1 VEHICLE OPERATION - LICENSE SUSPENDED

SUMMARY OF CRASH:


On 01/31/2025, at approximately 2130 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police, Royalton Barracks responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash on VT Route 14 near Vesper Road, in the town of Royalton, county of Windsor, Vermont. 


While investigating the crash, Troopers observed signs of impairment from the operator of Vehicle 1, identified as Peter Sheridan (52) of Marblehead, MA. Sheridan was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and was transported to the Royalton Barracks for processing, where Sheridan was later released on a citation to answer to the charge of DUI - Drug.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On the above date and time, Troopers with the Vermont State Police responded to Hollow Road in the Town of Monkton for a reported stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, Troopers located the stolen vehicle off the roadway. Troopers were able to locate and identify the operator of the vehicle as Sara A. Whritenour (37), who was found hiding in an unoccupied vehicle nearby.  Through investigation, Troopers discovered Whritenour’s license was criminally suspended in the State of Vermont and was required to have an ignition interlock device in the vehicle in which she was in control of.

 

While speaking to Whritenour, Troopers observed several indicators of impairment. Whritenour was ultimately arrested for aggravated operation without owners’ consent, DUI #2, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a criminally suspended license, ignition interlock restrictions, and unlawful trespass. While searching Whritenour incident to arrest, Troopers located cocaine on her person.

 

Whritenour was later released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division on April 7, 2025.

On January 31, 2025 at approximately 2217 hours, a Trooper with the Vermont State Police Williston Barracks conducted a motor vehicle stop for a speed violation on VT Route 100 / VT Route 100c in the town of Hyde Park.  The operator was identified as Nathan Hayden (41) of Woodbury.  While speaking with Hayden, Troopers detected indicators of impairment.  Hayden was subsequently arrested for the suspicion of DUI and transported to the Morrisville Police Department for processing where he was later released with a citation to appear at the Lamoille County Superior Court on February 05, 2025 at 1230 hours.
