SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 08/31/2024 at approximately 7:10 pm, the Vermont State Police responded to the area of Burpee Road near the intersection with Plank Road in the Town of Bristol for a reported family fight. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that John WK Strout (29) of Bristol, Vermont had operated a motor vehicle on a public highway. While speaking to Strout, Troopers observed indicators of impairment and Strout was screened for DUI. Strout was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and transported to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing. At the conclusion of processing, Strout was released to a sober adult with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division on September 16, 2024, at 12:30 pm.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 08/31/2024, at approximately 1317 hours, Trooper from the Vermont State Police – Westminster Barracks responded to Camp Arden Road, near the intersection of Green Mountain Camp Road in Dummerston (Windham County), Vermont for a vehicle that struck a residence. On scene investigation revealed that the operator, identified as Kaley Reckell, 17, of West Dover, Vermont failed to negotiate a corner, lost control of the vehicle and struck a nearby house causing exterior and interior damage to the residence. There were no injuries sustained in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 08/31/2024, at approximately 1153 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Westminster Barracks responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 Southbound in the area of mile marker 14/2, Dummerston (Windham County), Vermont. During investigation, Troopers learned that Jonathan W. Baldwin, 38, of Newport, New Hampshire struck the camper trailer being hauled by Betsy E. Arena, 69, of Milford, Connecticut. This collision caused Arena’s camper trailer to overturn, both her vehicle and camper trailer were blocking both southbound lanes of travel causing this section of the interstate to be closed for a short period of time. Neither operator, nor passengers sustained injuries in the crash. The vehicle was removed from the roadway and travel returned to normal. Troopers initiated a traffic stop on US Route 7 and during the investigation, Turner was found to have an active cite and release warrant stemming from a violation of his conditions of release where Colchester PD was the investigating agency. Investigation revealed that Crowley did not complete the project as agreed and Dyke requested a refund, in which Crowley failed to refund Dyke's money. On August 31, 2024 Crowley was issued a criminal citation to appear at the Bennington Superior Court - Criminal Division on October 21, 2024 at 0815 hours to answer to the charge of Home Improvement Fraud.

SUMMARY OF CRASH:  On August 30, 2024, at approximately 09:57 hours, Vermont State Police responded to a reported two-vehicle collision with injuries, located at US Route 7 and Dugway Road in the Town of Wallingford, Vermont.  Further investigation revealed that Vehicle #1, operated by Paul Pearce was attempting to make a left turn onto Dugway Road.  And Vehicle #2, operated by Christopher Dixon was traveling southbound on US Route 7.  The collision occurred in the southbound lane, both vehicles sustained front-end damage.  Both operators were transported by Wallingford Rescue and Regional Ambulance Service to Rutland Regional Medical Center to receive treatment for their injuries.

Troopers identified the operator as Bradley Martin, of Castleton, VT. Martin displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently taken into custody for the suspicion of Driving Under The Influence. He was transported to the State Police Barrack in Rutland Town for processing. Martin was cited to appear at Rutland Superior Court – Criminal Division on September 16, 2024, at 12:30 PM.

Troopers were assisted by the Rutland Town Fire Department, Regional Ambulance Service, and Carrara’s Towing.
