The operator of the vehicle was identified as David Adams (88) of Underhill, VT. While speaking with Adams, Troopers detected several signs of impairment. Adams was screened for driving under the influence of alcohol and subsequently placed under arrest.

 

Adams was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing. At the conclusion of processing, Adams was released on citation to appear at the Chittenden County Superior Court-Criminal Division on May 14, 2024, at 0830 hours, to answer to the charge of DUI Refusal.

Vermont State Police and Vermont Department of Corrections investigated a report of suspicious telephone calls placed from Northern State Correctional Center to the cell phone of a plaintiff in a relief from abuse order.  After an investigation, it was determined that Andre White (the defendant in the relief from abuse order) attempted to contact the plaintiff multiple times over a 2-day period.  This also violates court ordered conditions served upon Andre White prior to his incarceration.  Andre White is currently being held without bail after being charged with aggravated sexual assault in March 2023.

SUMMARY OF CRASH: On April 26, 2024, at approximately 1557 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks responded to a reported two-vehicle crash on US RT 7, in the Town of Pittsford.

Initial investigation revealed that Operator #1 (Hayes) was travelling northbound on US RT 7, behind Operator #2 (Shaw), also travelling northbound. Operator #2 attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot across from Marcell Oil, when Operator #1 operated left of the center line of the roadway and collided with the front driver’s side door of Vehicle #2, as Operator #2 was making a left turn to exit US RT 7. 

The Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by the Pittsford Fire Department and Regional Ambulance Service.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene due to disabling damage.

On the above date and time, the Vermont State Police received a call about pigs blocking the roadway on Maple St, in the Town of Orleans.  The Vermont State Police then received multiple calls about two males fighting in the roadway on Maple St.  Troopers responded and identified the males as Ty Morrison (37) of Orleans, VT, and Michael Cyr (57) of Brownington, VT.  It was determined Morrison and Cyr were arguing over the pigs that were in the roadway that neither party owned or managed.  Investigations revealed Morrison and Cyr engaged in violent, and tumultuous behavior toward each other in a public place.  Morrison and Cyr were both issued a citation to appear in Orleans County Superior Court for the above offense.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 05/28/2023, at approximately 0100 hours, the Vermont State Police were advised of a break-in at 1688 VT RT 105 in the Town of Newport Center, VT. The building that sits at that location is a closed restaurant. A short time after, State Police were alerted to a truck and cattle trailer engulfed in flames on River Road in the Town of North Troy. Subsequent investigation later revealed a 2011 Ford F-550 which was connected to a gooseneck cattle trailer and was stolen from Chaput’s Family Farm in the very late hours of 05/27/2023. The truck and trailer were then driven to the closed restaurant located at 1688 VT RT 105 in the Town of Newport Center where a person(s) forcefully entered and stole an ATM which was within. The truck and trailer shortly after was driven to River Road in Troy where the truck and the ATM within the cattle trailer were set on fire.

 

North Troy Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On 04/26/2024 at 0051 hours, the Vermont State Police – St. Albans Barracks initiated a traffic stop on the Interstate Access Road for a vehicle with an inoperable light. During the traffic stop Troopers found that Scott was operating the vehicle while his license was under criminal suspension.  Scott was cited to appear in Franklin County Court for Criminal DLS on 05/28/2024 at 0830 hours.
