B Troop / DLS Criminal Incidents

NEWS RELEASE – DLS INCIDENTS 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

For the week of Wednesday, June 17, 2026, through Tuesday, June 23, 2026, the troopers of B Troop cited the following individuals on suspicion of driving with a criminally suspended license: 

Jason Lake, 48, of Putney, VT was stopped by Trooper Michael Maldonado on Interstate 91, mile marker 15.4, in the town of Dummerston on June 20, 2026, at 4:12 PM. He is cited to appear at the Superior Court of Windham County on July 21, 2026.

Otto Ostler, 22, of Bennington, VT was stopped by Trooper Benjamin Prandini on US Route 7 in the town of Shaftsbury on June 17, 2026, at 5:36 PM. He is cited to appear at the Superior Court of Bennington County on August 17, 2026.

Scott Dawson, 26, of Rutland City, VT was stopped on June 23, 2026, at 8:18 PM on US Route 4 near Exit 3 in Castleton by Trooper Kolby Baldwin. He is cited to appear at the Superior Court of Rutland County on August 31, 2026.

B Troop consists of the Vermont State Police barracks in New Haven, Royalton, Rutland, Shaftsbury, and Westminster.
