SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: 

 

On November 27, 2024, at approximately 1530 hours, a Trooper from the Vermont State Police Williston Barracks observed a vehicle speeding on Interstate 89 Northbound near the Williston Rest Area in Williston. The vehicle was traveling at 86 miles per hour in a posted 65 mph zone.

A traffic stop was initiated on I-89 Northbound, just prior to Exit 12. The operator was identified as Kayla Wingfield, [31) of South Burlington, VT. During the interaction, Troopers detected signs of impairment and, based on these observations, Wingfield was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
Following the arrest, Wingfield was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing. After processing, she was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Criminal Court on December 17th, 2024 at 0830 hours.
