SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On 11/08/26 at approximately 1341 hours, the Vermont State Police-Shaftsbury Barracks received a be-on-the-lookout "BOL" for a vehicle that had reportedly gone off the roadway into a ditch but was able to drive out. It was then reported that the vehicle was driving on the roadway with two flat tires.
Troopers located the vehicle at a residence in Pownal and made contact with the operator, Lucien L. Laurent Jr. (59). While speaking with Laurent, Troopers noted several indicators of impairment. Laurent was subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Shaftsbury Barracks for processing. After processing, Troopers released Laurent with a citation to appear at the Bennington courthouse on 11/23/26 at 0830 hours.
