On October 7, 2026, at approximately 0634 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police – St. Albans Barracks were dispatched to the report of a single vehicle crash near 2595 Main St in the town of Fairfax. Troopers responded to the scene and located a 2025 Subaru Forester on the north side of the roadway in the ditch with a snapped power pole behind the vehicle with lines down.

Preliminary investigation established that the operator of the Subaru was Raina Fiarkoski (28) of Fairfax, Vt. No injury was reported. She was wearing her seatbelt and the airbags did deploy. It appears VEH 1 left the right-hand side of the roadway, traveled down the ditch until striking a power pole.
