On 09/07/2026 the Vermont State Police was conducting an investigation into a previously reported restraining order violation. A complaint was made at that time that Jeff Harper, age 60 of Barton, VT, had witnessed the violation and coerced the victim against reporting the violation to law enforcement. At the direction of the Orleans County State's Attorney's Office, Harper was cited on 10/6/2026 to appear in Orleans Criminal Court on 11/03/2026 at be arraigned on a charge of Obstruction of Justice.
