SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On this date and time, Vermont State Police received a report of a physical altercation at the Horseshoe Acres Campground, located at 1978 Weston Andover Road in the Town of Andover (Windsor County), Vermont.

 

Vermont State Police arrived and conducted a thorough investigation, determining that 62-year-old Gary Alan Ferland of Charlestown, New Hampshire, had physically assaulted another family member while at his campsite. Ferland was arrested for suspicion of First Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault and transported to the Westminster Barracks for processing.

 

Ferland was held without bail at Southern State Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, on June 24, 2024, at 0830 hours to answer the above charge.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On the above date and time, Vermont State Police were dispatched to an active fight between family members at a residence on South Stream Road in in the Town of Pownal. Investigation revealed that Bradley M. Roy had assaulted a family member. Roy also displayed signs of impairment and it was determined he had consumed alcohol prior to driving to the scene.

 

Roy was arrested and transported to the Shaftsbury State Police Barracks for processing. At the conclusion of processing, Roy was released with a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on 06/24/2024 at 1230 hours.

Summary of Incident: 

On 06/22/2024 at approximately 10:32 AM, the Vermont State Police received a 911 call reporting an erratic operator traveling north on Interstate 91, in the town of Dummerston, VT. A Trooper with the Vermont State Police located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing multiple traffic violations to include an observed speed of 96 MPH in a posted 65 MPH zone. The operator was identified as Robert King (63) of Charlestown NH. While speaking with King, the Trooper detected several indicators of impairment. King was subsequently arrested and transported to the Westminster Barracks for processing. King was issued a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on July 16th, 2024, at 8:30 AM to answer to the charges of DUI #2, Gross Negligent Operation, and Excessive Speed. King was also issued a multitude of Vermont Civil Violation Complaints.

Investigation revealed the identity of the unknown female to be Brianna Hodge. Ultimately, Hodge was issued a citation to appear before the Franklin County Superior Court on August 20th 2024 at 0830 hours to face the aforementioned charge of Retail Theft.

              On 6/21/2024, the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks worked in collaboration with the Vermont Department of Children and Families to investigate allegations of Aggravated Domestic Assault by Andrew Pallas of Topsham, Vermont. An incident had occurred at Pallas’s residence over Memorial Day weekend, where Pallas engaged in threatening, harmful behaviors towards family members. Pallas was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bradford State Police Outpost for processing. Pallas was ultimately released with a citation into Orange County Court to answer for the above mentioned charges.

 SUMMARY OF CRASH:
 
On the afternoon of 6/21/24, Troopers from the Shaftsbury barracks responded to a one vehicle roll-over crash on Hapgood Pond Road in the town of Peru, VT. Troopers made contact with the operator, Van Dyck (86) who reported she was traveling north at approximately 35 miles per hour when she feel asleep behind the wheel, crossed the centerline and struck a tree off the shoulder of the roadway. After colliding with the tree Van Dyck's vehicle overturned.
 
Van Dyck was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and was uninjured.
 
The Vermont State Police were assisted by the Peru Fire Department and Londonderry Rescue.
