SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On May 11, 2020 at approximately 3:45 PM the Bakersfield Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at a camp located off Belvedere Mountain Road.  Firefighters found the camp fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.  Due to the location of the camp and the road conditions additional resources were called for to aid in the suppression of the fire.

 

The Vermont Department of Public Safety Fire Investigation Unit was contacted and asked to conduct an origin and cause examination of the fire scene.  Investigators examined the scene on May 12, 2020 but were unable to determined the origin and cause of the fire due to the total consumption of the building.  The camp is a total loss valued at approximately $61,000.

 

The camp was empty at the time of the fire event and there were no reported injuries associated with the suppression or investigation of the fire.
