On May 15, 2020, at approximately 1142 hours, Troopers at the Vermont State Police – Shaftsbury Barracks responded to a report of a two-vehicle rollover crash on VT RT 30, in the Town of Rupert, Vermont.

Initial investigation revealed that OP#1 (Hurley) was traveling south on VT RT 30 and attempted to pass VH#2 as it was turning left. VH#1 collided with the front end of VH#2, ultimately causing OP#1 to lose control of VH#1. VH#1 rolled over several times, before colliding with a telephone pole and landing on its roof.

There were minor injuries as a result of the crash. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to damage by Monarch’s Towing. The Vermont State Police were assisted by the Bennington County Sheriff’s Department, Rupert Fire Department, Granville Rescue, and Manchester Rescue.
