SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 04/01/2020 at approximately 0703 hours, the Vermont State Police Williston

Barracks received a report from a male complainant advising of a suspicious

vehicle, an older model Ford truck, that was following him around the town of

Jericho while he delivered mail. The complainant was met by the same truck a

second time at the intersection of VT RTE 15 and Browns Trace where the truck

blocked the roadway, preventing the complainant from entering VT RTE 15. The

complainant witnessed the operator of the truck point a firearm at him. The

complainant quickly fled the scene immediately after.

Before reporting the incident, the complainant turned around and followed the

suspicious truck until it turned into the driveway of a residence in Underhill.

The complainant provided an address for a Trooper to follow up with.

Troopers responded to the address in Underhill and located a truck that matched

the description provided by the complainant. Upon further investigation the

registered owner, Matthew Cook, was interviewed by Troopers. One firearm was

seized and Cook was released on scene with a citation to appear in Vermont

Superior Court Criminal Division located in Burlington, VT.
