SUMMARY OF CRASH: On March 29, 2020, at approximately 0058 hours, Troopers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Vermont Route 30 in the town of Sudbury (VT). Upon arrival of Troopers, medical aid was immediately rendered to the injured parties on scene. The passenger of vehicle #1, Lauren Martin, was extracted from the vehicle. The front passenger, Martin was transferred to University of Vermont Medical Center for serious injuries. The operator of vehicle #1, Brandon Yandow, was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center and later transferred to the University of Vermont Medical Center for serious injuries.  

 

During the course of the investigation, Troopers observed Yandow displayed signs of alcohol impairment. Yandow provided false information to Troopers on scene and Troopers  learned, Yandow had two Vermont Warrants. Troopers discovered Yandow was operating with a Criminally Suspended License.

 

Brandon Yandow, was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division on April 20, 2020. Yandow was charged with Gross Negligent Operation, DUI, Driving with a Criminally Suspended License, and Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer.

  

The Vermont State Police are currently investigating the crash and are asking if anyone has any information to please contact the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks.

 

The Vermont State Police were assisted by Brandon Rescue, Brandon Fire department, Whiting Rescue, Middlebury Rescue,  Orwell Rescue, Orwell Animal Control Officer, Carreras towing, and many other fire and ems response.
