SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On February 3, 2020 at approximately 1150 hours, Williston Troopers were

notified of a two vehicle crash on Interstate 89 North, mile marker 79. Upon

arrival on scene, Troopers observed vehicle #1, a 2019 International tractor

trailer unit parked in the breakdown lane. Vehicle #2 a 2014 GMC pickup truck

was facing North in a near by u-turn. The investigation revealed operator #1

Angus, attempted to  utilize a u-turn, and travel South. Vehicle #1 blocked both

lanes of I-89 North during this maneuver. Vehicle #2 approached vehicle #1 and

swerved from the travel lane into the passing lane, attempting to avoid vehicle

#1. Vehicle #2 struck the driver’s side door area of vehicle #1 causing

significant damage. Vehicle #2 sustained major front end damage. No injuries

resulted from the crash. Operator #1 Angus was cited to appear in Chittenden

County Superior Court, Criminal Division on March 24, 2020 for negligent

operation.

 

This crash was investigated with assistance from the Department of Motor

Vehicles, Law Enforcement division.
