Westminster Barracks - Excessive Speed & Negligent Operation

VIOLATION: Excessive Speed & Negligent Operation

 

ACCUSED: Reid Dammeyer                                               

AGE: 19

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Fairfield, CT

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 1/27/20, at approximately 1730 hours, Troopers with the

Westminster Barracks observed a vehicle traveling on I-91 south, near mile

marker 26 in Westminster.  The vehicle was captured on radar traveling at 103

mph through traffic in the posted 65 mph zone.  Troopers caught up to and followed the vehicle as it

continued to travel in excess of 100 mph, pacing it in excess of 105 mph at times. 

 

Troopers stopped the vehicle and identified the operator as Reid Dammeyer, 19,

of Fairfield, CT.  During a search of the vehicle, marijuana and THC extract was

located in the vehicle, which is not legal due to the operator's age. 

 

Dammeyer was processed for excessive speed and negligent operation.  He was

issued a civil violation for the speed as well as Diversion paperwork for the

marijuana possession.
