ACCUSED: Meghan McBean

AGE: 36

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Dummerston, VT

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 01/28/2020 at approximately 9:00 pm, the Vermont State Police responded to a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash on West Street in the Town of Dummerston (Windham County), Vermont.  Vermont State Police arrived on scene and observed a 2011 Chevy Aveo parked in the driveway of Meghan McBean with significant front-end damage.

During the investigation, it was determined that Meghan McBean was the operator of the above vehicle.  Further investigation revealed a child passenger in the vehicle at the time of the hit and run. McBean was later arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, gross negligent operation, and cruelty to a child.  McBean was transported to the Vermont State Police barracks in Westminster for processing. Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by members of the West Dummerston Fire Department. No injuries were reported in the crash.

McBean was released with a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on February 11, 2020 at 08:00 am to answer to the above charges.
