Westminster Barracks - Saturation Patrol

SATURATION PATROL

 

During the evening hours of December 21st, 2019, Troopers from the Westminster Barracks conducted a saturation patrol throughout Windham and Windsor County.  The purpose of the patrol was to detect and identify aggressive and speeding drivers, enforce motor vehicle laws, promote safe driving, and to apprehend impaired drivers.

 

Details:

  • Troopers involved: 6
  • Number of traffic stops: 60
  • Number of traffic tickets issued: 13
  • Number of written warnings issued: 53
  • Arrests: 3
  • Highlights:
  • Several operators were screened for impairment.  Two operators were arrested and processed for DUI.
  • One individual was stopped for speeding.  They were subsequently arrested for driving with a criminally suspended license and resisting arrest.  The vehicle was seized, pending a search warrant application.
  • Troopers responded to several crashes throughout the area due to impairment as well as operators falling asleep while driving.
