**Update** Middlesex/DUI Checkpoint

DUI Checkpoint

 

**UPDATE**

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On December 20th 2019, between the hours of 9:30 pm and 11:00pm, the Vermont State Police hosted a DUI/Sobriety Checkpoint on VT Rt. 100 in the Town of Waterbury, Washington County. Officers from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Barre City, and Barre Town Police Departments all assisted with staffing and running the checkpoint. 

 

During the checkpoint, 326 vehicles passed through and 6 drivers were screened for possible impaired operation. After conducting standardized field sobriety tests, 1 operator was found to be impaired and arrested. A second vehicle was seized and a warrant is being applied for to search its contents.

 

The public appeared very appreciative of the checkpoint and several Officers were greeted with positive feedback.
