SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On December 29, 2019 at approximately 1600 hours, Troopers from the Shaftsbury Barracks observed a vehicle travelling south on US Route 7 near the Manchester/Sunderland town line at a high rate of speed. Upon activation of the cruiser's radar device, the vehicle's speed was recorded at 94 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the operator was identified as Emily Diamantopoulos (32) of Townshend, VT. Diamantopoulos advised she was running late and completely unaware of her speed. Diamantopoulos was subsequently issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for speeding, which carries a waiver penalty of $585 and two points, and released on citation to answer to the charges of Negligent Operation, Excessive Speed, and Reckless Endangerment.
