Shaftsbury Barracks/ Saturation Patrol/ Focus- Impaired Drivers/ Multiple Arrests

SATURATION PATROL

 

On December 27-28th, 2019, between 2000 and 0200 hours, Troopers from Shaftsbury Barracks conducted a saturation patrol spanning the towns of Rupert, Readsboro, Bennington, Shaftsbury and Manchester (VT).  Troopers focused their efforts on stopping and arresting individuals operating under the influence of alcohol and / or drugs. 

 

While on patrol, Troopers conducted 41 traffic stops, issuing 9 VCVC’s and 38 written warnings.  Two (2) operators were arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).  Several others were screened for possible impairment but were found to have been under the legal limit of .08% BAC.

  • Highlights:
    • David Barnum, age 62,  was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
    • Caitlin Malloy, age 34, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
    • Several others screened for possible impairment.
