SUMMARY OF CRASH: 

 

On December 19th, 2019, at approximately 2143 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Shaftsbury Barracks responded to a single motor vehicle crash on VT Route 313W, near the intersection of Wilcox Road, in Arlington, VT.  It was advised that the operator drove off the roadway and into a tree.  The operator was entrapped in the vehicle.

 

Investigation revealed that the vehicle was operated by Scott Sibley, age 49, of Arlington, VT.  Scott was traveling westbound on VT Route 313W near Wilcox Road in Arlington, when he crossed over the center line, drove off the roadway, and struck a tree on the eastbound side of the roadway.  Scott was entrapped within the vehicle and was extricated by the Arlington Fire Department.  Scott was later transported to the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and then airlifted by LifeNet to the Albany Medical Center in critical condition.

 

The Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by the Arlington Fire Department and Arlington Rescue.
