CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Chittenden, VT

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On December 27, 2019 at approximately 0156 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police, Rutland Barracks, attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on VT Route 30 in the Town of Sudbury for an observed speeding violation. After activating police emergency lights and sirens, the identified vehicle began accelerating away from Troopers initiating a pursuit.

 

A brief pursuit occurred and entered the Town of Whiting where the identified vehicle proceeded onto Stickney Rd. The vehicle continued West on Stickney Rd. at a high rate of speed before the operator lost control and went off the road causing the vehicle to roll several times in a field.

 

As a result of the crash, the operator, Chelsea Konarski (18) was ejected from the vehicle.  Konarski and passenger, Anna Krans (18) were injured in the crash and transported to Porter Medical Center for evaluation and care to their nonlife-threatening injuries.

 

Konarski showed signs of impairment and was processed for DUI. She was cited to appear in Rutland Superior District Court on March 16, 2020 at 0830 hours.
