SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On December 30, 2019, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks observed a vehicle on the side of the road on North Grove Street near McKinley Avenue in the Town of Rutland.

 

The operator, identified as James Knox (28), appeared to be unconscious in the driver’s seat of the running vehicle. Believing that Knox was having a medical issue, Troopers checked on him.

 

Further investigation revealed Knox showed signs of impairment and was subsequently screened for DUI. Knox was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks for processing.

 

Knox was cited to appear in Rutland Superior District Court on March 9th, 2020 at 8:30 AM.
