SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: During the early-morning hours of November 9, 2019 Troopers out of the Williston Barracks conducted a patrol targeting impaired drivers on I-89 in the greater Chittenden County area.

 

At approximately 2:32 AM, a Trooper conducted a traffic stop near the Winooski River Bridge after noticing a vehicle operating with no registration plates. The operator of the vehicle was identified as 26-year-old William Thompson of Milton, VT. Thompson displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for DUI.

 

Thompson was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing, at the conclusion of which he was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court to answer to the charge of DUI #1. He was later released to a sober adult.
