SUMMARY OF CRASH: On the above date and time the Vermont State Police received the report of a single vehicle crash on Middle Rd in the Town of Dummerston.

Laura O'Brien was traveling south on Middle Rd when her vehicle failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the road and she traveled off the west side of the road, striking a tree head on.

Two juveniles in the vehicle with O'Brien received serious, non-life threatening, injuries. The juveniles were transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and subsequently flown by DHART to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment. A third juvenile passenger received minor injuries and was treated at BMH and released. O'Brien was uninjured.

Investigation into the crash revealed O'Brien was possibly under the influence of a prescribed drug. O'Brien was screened for DUI and thereupon arrested for DUI-Drugs. O'Brien will also be charged with Cruelty to a Child, Serious Bodily Injury, at court arraignment.
