SUMMARY OF CRASH: On November 9th, 2019, at approximately 1626 hours, Troopers from The Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash in the vicinity of Raymond Road, in the Town of Danby. Upon arrival, Troopers located a 2012 GMC Truck operated by Ethan Staples (27) of Poultney, off the roadway, in a river. Staples showed signs of impairment and was screened for DUI on scene. Staples was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and transported to the State Police barracks in Rutland Town for processing. Staples was released and issued a citation to appear at Rutland Superior Court, Criminal Division, on November 25th, 2019, at 08:30 AM.

The Vermont State Police were assisted by members of the Danby Fire Department.
