Rutland Barracks/ Attempting to Elude/ C And N Operation

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On November 9, 2019 at approximately 2325 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police, Rutland Barracks observed a vehicle traveling on South Main Street in Rutland City Vermont at 76 mph in a posted 35 mph speed zone.  Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle and the vehicle failed to stop.  A brief pursuit ensued and the operator of the vehicle who was identified as Thomas Trepanier (39) was subsequently stopped and taken into custody for attempting to elude police and caress and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Trepanier was transported to the State Police barracks in Rutland where he was processed and released on a citation to appear at the Rutland Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date and time
