SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 04/04/25 at approximately 0132 hours Trooper assigned to the St. Johnsbury Barracks were dispatched to a citizen dispute in Lyndon. One of the involved parties involved was Robert Evans, who was found to have an active warrant for his arrested. Evans had left the scene prior to Troopers arrival. Later in the day at approximately 2215 hours Trooper were able to locate Evans and he was taken into custody. Investigation further found that Evans was in violation of active abuse protection orders. Evans was taken to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing and transported to NECC on lack of $20,000 bail.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

On April 4, 2025, at approximately 1806 hours, the Vermont State Police conducted a traffic stop after an observed motor vehicle violation on US Route 7 near the intersection with Little Chicago Road in the Town of Ferrisburgh. The operator was identified as Keagan R. Bothwell (21) of Charlotte, Vermont. Investigation revealed Bothwell’s Vermont driver’s license was criminally suspended and Bothwell was required to have an ignition interlock device installed in a vehicle in which he was in control of.

 

Further investigation revealed Bothwell was in violation of multiple court ordered conditions of release. Bothwell was taken into custody and transported to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing. At the conclusion of processing, Bothwell was released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division on June 2, 2025, to answer to the above charges.

Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and were able to identify the passenger as Krystal Taylor (37). Investigation revealed that Taylor had two active in-state arrest warrant. Taylor was arrested and transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in St. Johnsbury for processing. Taylor was then cited to appear at Caledonia County Supreme Court on 04/04/2025 and transported to Northeast Correctional Complex for lack of $300.00 bail.

On the above date and time, the Berlin State Police received a report of a single vehicle crash in Williamstown at the intersection of Route 14 and Circle Street. A vehicle had reportedly hit a power pole. Prior to Trooper’s arrival, the operator, later identified as Jeffrey Bahner, left the scene and failed to report the crash.  Troopers later learned Bahner was at home in his apartment in Williamstown; however, he did not answer the door when Troopers knocked.

Troopers applied for and were granted a search warrant for Bahner’s residence. Upon executing the warrant, Troopers located Bahner inside. Troopers subsequently arrested Bahner for suspicion of DUI. He was processed at the Berlin Barracks and later released with a citation to appear in court at a later date.

Vermont State Police responded to a single vehicle crash near 3722 Vt Route 14 in the Town of Irasburg. Investigation revealed that the operator, Mark Buckley, lost control due to snow covered roads and rolled his vehicle on its side.  There were no injuries reported at the crash, and the vehicle sustained substantial damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. Orleans EMS and Orleans Fire Department assisted with the crash.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

The Vermont State Police Derby Barracks is investigating an incident in which a single handgun-caliber bullet struck an occupied private residence on Reed Road in the Town of Coventry at approximately 2000 hours on 4/2/25.  No injuries occurred as a result.

 

Troopers were assisted at the scene by VT Fish and Wildlife Game Wardens, and evidence collected indicates the round was fired from a location south of the residence and several hundred yards away, which may include the area of VT-105.  This incident is not believed to be targeted, there is no indication of a threat to the public.

On 04/03/2025 at approximately 0417 hours Troopers with the Vermont State Police – St. Albans Barracks, were investigating an unrelated incident when contact was made with Andrew Morris of Fairfield.

Morris was found to have two active warrants for his arrest. Morris was taken into custody for the warrants and transported to Northwest State Correctional Facility and he was held on $100 bail.

 

The active warrants contained charges of:

 

23 VSA 674(a)(2) Misdemeanor  Vehicle Operation – License Suspended/ OSC

13 VSA 1802   Felony   Forgery – Utter / Publish an Instrument

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On April 2^nd, 2025, at approximately 10:47 pm, Vermont State Police received a report of a possibly intoxicated male driving in front of a residence near Main St, Cavendish, Windsor County, Vermont.

 

Vermont State Police located a male suspect operating a vehicle who was identified as Tristan M. Anderson, 20 of Chester, VT. Through investigation, Anderson acted in a disorderly manner and displayed indicators of impairment.

 

Anderson was arrested and transported to the State Police barracks in Westminster. He was processed and cited for the charges of DUI and Disorderly Conduct. He was later released to a sober adult.

Investigation revealed that Juile A. Burch (43) had been asked to leave the residence on 04/02/2025 and continued to stay against the owner's wishes.

 

Burch was placed under arrest and transported to the Westminster barracks, where she was processed and issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division on 05/13/2025 at 0830 hours for the above charge.

Teague was issued a criminal citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on May 27^th 2025 at 0830 hours.

On 02/14/2025 at approximately 1418 hours, the Vermont State Police received a complaint that Daniel Omand (32) of Brookline had filmed a sexual encounter and shared it without the victim’s consent. Further investigation revealed that Omand had committed that offense in the presence of a child and had placed a suspected tracker in the victim's vehicle. Omand was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on 04/03/2025 at 1230 hours to answer to the above charges. Omand was violated by Probation and parole and held at Southern State Correctional Facility with no bail in lieu of his probation violation.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

Vermont State Police are investigating a vandalism that occurred at the Sheldon Elementary School located at 78 Poor Farm Rd. in Sheldon. Troopers received a report of this on April 2, 2025, and responded to the school. The vandalism consisted of a swastika drawn / carved into an exterior metal door of the building. This event is currently open and under investigation.

The Vermont State Police will inform the Attorney General's Office of this case as a possible hate crime under the Bias Incident Reporting System.
