He was transported to the Northwestern Medical Center as a precaution for minor injuries.

While at the hospital, Troopers observed signs of drug impairment and issued him a citation for DUI drugs.

Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with Douglas White (34). Investigation revealed that White had two active in-state arrest warrants. While attempting to take White into custody he resisted arrest. White was arrested and transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in St. Johnsbury for processing. White was then cited to appear at Orange County Supreme Court on 12/18/24 for the resisting arrest charge. White was then transported to the Caledonia County Superior Court for his outstanding warrants for lack of $200.00 bail.

On 11/20/2024, at approximately 1132 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks were notified of a motor vehicle crash near 172 Main Street in the Town of Wallingford.

Through investigation it was determined Operator #2 (Taft) was operating vehicle #2, traveling north on Main Street. Operator #1 (Quenzer) was operating vehicle #1, traveling north on Main Street and collided with the rear left portion of vehicle #2. Vehicle #1 briefly stopped before driving away from the crash at a high rate of speed.

The Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by the Rutland County Sheriff’s Department and Wallingford Fire Department.

Thursday morning, Nov. 21, 2024, the Haverhill Police Department and Grafton County Sheriff’s Office in New Hampshire located and arrested Brandon Lackie. Questions about his arrest should be directed to those agencies.

Following the extradition process in New Hampshire, Lackie will be returned to Vermont to face charges related to the stabbing in Groton.

***Initial news release, 3:35 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024***

The Vermont State Police is investigating a stabbing that injured a man in Groton this week and is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect.

The incident occurred at about 8:35 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, at a home on Tinkham Road when, for unknown reasons, 36-year-old Brandon Lackie stabbed an acquaintance, 39-year-old John Faucette, multiple times in the back before stealing Faucette’s truck and fleeing. Faucette called the Vermont State Police. He was subsequently transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, where his condition is reported to be stable.

Troopers have made multiple attempts to locate Lackie and discovered the stolen truck abandoned in Ryegate, but the suspect remains at large. Lackie is white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with brown, balding hair. He is known to have a full beard. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored coat with graphics and writing. Photos of Lakcie including one with the coat are attached to this release.

Anyone who sees Lackie should not approach him and instead immediately call 911 or the Vermont State Police in St. Johnsbury at 802-748-3111. While advising Taylor that she needed to leave the premises, Taylor tried to re-enter Hannaford and was placed under arrest for Unlawful Trespass. While being taken into custody Taylor screamed and disturbed the peace and began to resist the Trooper's efforts to arrest her. Taylor also attempted to bite the hand of one of the Troopers but was unsuccessful. Taylor was transported to the Bradford State Police Outpost for processing.

Adam Rauch was located at about 2:10 p.m. Wednesday on foot along Route 30 in Newfane and was taken into custody by the Vermont State Police without incident.

The Vermont State Police is investigating an assault that occurred Wednesday morning, Nov. 20, 2024, at Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend and asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect.

Hospital officials called VSP shortly after 9:30 a.m. and reported that a patient identified as Adam Rauch, 22, of San Diego, California, had attacked a nurse and damaged property before leaving on foot. Rauch may be in crisis and is potentially dangerous, and there are concerns for his welfare.

He is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 210 pounds, with a muscular build and blond hair. He was last seen wearing blue hospital scrub pants, a blue paper top, and no socks or shoes. He left Grace Cottage Hospital in an unknown direction of travel and has no known contacts in the area.

Anyone who sees Rauch should not approach him and immediately call 911 or the Vermont State Police in Westminster at 802-722-4600. A photo of him is attached to this release.

Rauch is suspected of assault on a protected professional and unlawful mischief. The nurse was treated for facial injuries and released. As a result of the incident, the hospital and nearby schools temporarily enacted safety precautions, which they have since lifted.

SUMMARY OF CRASH: On November 20, 2024, at approximately 0808 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks responded to a reported single-vehicle crash on Wheelerville Rd. in the Town of Mendon.

Upon arrival, Troopers located a 2015 Nissan Titan off the east side of the roadway, down an embankment, resting against a tree. The operator, the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Initial investigation revealed that Operator #1 (Black) was traveling southbound on Wheelerville Rd when he failed to maintain his lane and drove off the east side of the roadway, colliding with a tree.

The Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by the Regional Ambulance Service and the Rutland City Fire Department.

On 11/19/2024 at approximately 2255 hours, Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on VT Route 125 in the Town of Ripton. Investigation revealed V#1 lost control and left the roadway, striking a tree. The operator, Skylar Many (35) left the scene prior to Troopers arrival but was located at his residence shortly afterward. While speaking with Many, Troopers detected indicators of impairment. Many was screened, taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and transported to the New Haven Barracks for processing. Many refused Evidentiary Testing during processing. Many was released from custody on citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.

Vermont State Police was assisted by Middlebury Police Department.
