SUMMARY OF CRASH:

 

On November 7, 2019, at approximately 1952 hours, the Vermont State Police were dispatched to a one-car motor vehicle crash on Cram Road in the Town of

Leicester. Upon arrival, the operator was identified as Matthew Nickclaw, 42, of Brandon, VT. Preliminary investigation indicates that Nickclaw was traveling west

on Cram Road. Nickclaw then lost control of the motor vehicle and struck a tree.

 

While speaking with Nickclaw, several signs of alcohol and drug impairment were observed. Nickclaw was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and transported to the New Haven Barracks for processing. At the conclusion of processing, Nickclaw was issued a citation to appear before the Addison Superior Court Criminal Division

to answer the charge of Title 23 VSA 1201 "Operating under the influence of intoxicants or other substance." Nickclaw was later released to a responsible sober party.

 

The Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by Brandon Rescue, Brandon Fire Department and the Brandon Police Department.
