SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 9/10/19 at approximately 1020 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police - Royalton Barracks and Fire and Rescue from Hartland and Hartford were dispatched to the area of mile marker 66 on Interstate 91 south in Hartland in response to a report of a van on it's side with possible entrapment. After arriving on scene, Troopers had to shut down the passing lane for approximately one hour. The operator of the van was able to exit and was unharmed. Troopers learned a traffic lane marking truck was also involved in the crash. The van had collided with the crash barrier attached to the truck as the road crew was slowly traveling south and recovering traffic cones from prior lane painting and marking. The lane marking truck was able to leave under its own power. The van was recovered by Legendary Auto. Both lanes of traffic were reopened at 1120 hrs. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
