VIOLATION: Careless & Negligent Operation / Leaving Scene of Accident

 

ACCUSED: Paul Stanhope Jr.                                              

AGE: 25

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Berkshire, VT

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

                On September 21, 2018 at approximately 0818 hours, State Police were notified of a case where someone allegedly left the scene of a crash. It was later determined that there was a road-rage incident between Paul Stanhope Jr. (age 25) and Eric Martin (age 32) from Berkshire.

                During the conclusion of the incident, Stanhope attempted to go around Martin and struck his vehicle. He then left the scene and went home where he parked the vehicle inside a garage. The vehicle was located and Stanhope was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and careless and negligent operation. More charges may be pending, as the investigation is still ongoing.

                Stanhope was cited to appear in VT Superior Court to answer the above charges.
