ACCUSED: Maxwell J. Corbin                                              

AGE: 25

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Essex Junction, VT

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: During the evening hours of August 6th, 2018  Troopers with Vermont State Police St. Albans were conducting stationary speed enforcement on I-89 Southbound in the town of Milton.

 

At approximately 2015 hours Troopers observed a vehicle travelling south at a speed that was visually estimated to be in extreme excess of the posted speed limit. The vehicle was ultimately determined to be travelling at 115mph in a posted 65mph zone, and was subsequently stopped in the area of Mile Marker 100 Southbound in the town of Milton.

 

The operator was identified as Maxwell Corbin (age 25) of Essex Junction, VT. He was arrested without incident and transported to the St. Albans State Police barracks for processing. During transport Corbin became violent and threatening towards Troopers, striking the inside of the cruiser and spitting inside the cruiser.

 

Corbin is currently on conditions of release from a prior arrest, and was violating those conditions by acting in a violent and threatening manner.

 

At the conclusion of processing and per order of the court, Corbin was released with a flash citation to appear before Chittenden County Superior Court on August 7th, 2018 at 0830 hours to answer the aforementioned charges.
