SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On August 2, 2018 at approximately 1709 hours the Vermont State Police located a vehicle that had been reported stolen on July 31, 2018 in the Town of MT. Tabor, Vermont.  The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated with the vehicle.  The pursuit continued north on Route 7 and a tire deflation device was successfully used in Rutland Town, VT.  The vehicle continued into Rutland City where it lost control trying to turn onto Allen Street, and a low speed crash occurred when the vehicle slid into another vehicle at the intersection.  The operator, Jamal S. Hall, fled from the vehicle and was apprehended inside the Rutland Fair Grounds.  Hall was lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Center on two outstanding warrants as well as conditions of release and bail of $75,000 set by the Honorable Judge Hoar.  The Vermont State Police were assisted by the Rutland City Police Department, Rutland County Sheriffs Department and the Fair Haven Police Department during this incident.
