SUMMARY OF CRASH:

Vermont State Police responded to a two vehicle collision on I89 SB.  At that time, it was determined Op#1 (Parmalee) was driving SB on I89 in the right lane of travel while Op#2 (Kozlowski) was driving in the left lane.  Upon coming upon slower moving traffic ahead of her, Op#1 attempted to merged into the left lane of travel before verifying that it was safe to do so.  Veh#1's driver side collided with Veh#2's passenger side which caused Veh#1 to veer off the eastern side of the roadway.  Veh#1 then traveled approx. 150 feet in a southeasterly diagonal direction prior to striking a rock ledge that extended along the eastern side of the roadway.  Veh#1 came to rest facing in a northwesterly direction while Veh#1 was able to slow and come to a stop along the eastern side of the roadway.  Weather or road conditions do not appear to be factors in this crash.

Op#1 and Op#2 were uninjured and were noted to be wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.  I89 SB experienced delays in this area while crews worked to remove Veh#1 from the scene.  Veh#2 was driven away under its own power.

Op#1 was issued a written warning for Title 23 VSA Section 1035 Limitations on Passing.

No further action will be taken.
