VIOLATION: Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm While Committing

a Crime, Cruelty to a Child x2

 

ACCUSED: Nyree Scott                                              

AGE: 32

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: New York, NY

 

VICTIM: Juveniles ages 2 & 3

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 6/9/18, at approximately 1841 hours, Troopers responded

to a report of a disabled vehicle on Interstate 91 northbound, near mile marker

3 in Vernon, VT.  The vehicle was occupied by Nyree Scott, another adult male,

and two juvenile children ages 2 & 3.  While speaking with the occupants,

Troopers developed probable cause of criminal activity.  During a consensual

search of the vehicle and occupants, Trooper's located approximately 11 grams of

crack cocaine on Scott as well as pistol magazine with several rounds of

ammunition.  Located under the unsecured car seat of the 2 year old juvenile was

a Ruger .22 handgun. 

 

Scott was arrested for the above mentioned offenses and transported to the

Westminster Barracks for processing.  Scott was issued a citation for the

charges and lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of

$10,000 bail.  The children were brought to a safe family member.
