INCIDENT LOCATION: 1374 Scott Highway, Groton

VIOLATION: Disorderly Conduct, Simple Assault

 

ACCUSED: Janet Wharton                                            

AGE: 55

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Newbury, VT

 

VICTIM: (The Vermont State Police does not release the names of victims of

sexual assault or domestic violence.)

AGE: 62

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Groton

 

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

 

  On the above mentioned date and time, Troopers with the Vermont State Police responded to an active dispute in Groton. Further investigation revealed Janet Wharton assaulted an individual at the residence by kicking and swinging at them. Wharton was arrested and taken back to the Bradford State Police Outpost for processing. Wharton was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Criminal Court on 6/11/18 at 0830 hours to answer to the charges of Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct.
