On June 30, 2018 at approximately 1538 hours, Troopers of the Vermont State Police – St. Albans Barracks were notified of a two car motor vehicle crash on Main Street at the intersection of Sam Webb Road in the Town of Fairfax, Vermont.

Initial investigation revealed that vehicle #1 was being operated by Andrea Teague (Age 26). Vehicle #2 was being operated by Janice Decooman (Age 63). Teague was traveling south on Main Street approaching the intersection of Sam Webb Road. Decooman was traveling north on Main Street.

Through further investigation, it was discovered that Teague crossed the center line to avoid striking an animal in the travel portion of the roadway. Decooman was traveling north on Main Street and observed Teague’s vehicle in her lane of travel. Both vehicles then attempted to swerve out of the way of each other and subsequently struck head on. Vehicle #1 and #2 both sustained major contact damage to the front end. Teague was not injured as a result of the crash. Decooman and her occupant were both transported by Fairfax Rescue to Northwestern Medical Center for further medical evaluation.
