SUMMARY OF CRASH: On May 10, 2018 at approximately 0950 hours VSP Williston Troopers as well as Richmond P.D. responded to a car vs. commercial motor vehicle collision on I89 in the town of Bolton. Initial information was that the car involved in the crash had rolled into the median and the operator was trapped in the car.

Investigation revealed that operator#1, Brandon T. Frederick was traveling south on I89 in the travel lane and merged left as AOT workers were on the shoulder picking up trash. Upon merging left, vehicle#1 which was a large box truck, forced vehicle#2 off the highway and into the median. After leaving the

interstate, vehicle#2 rolled multiple times and came to rest on its roof.

Bolton Fire and Richmond Rescue were called to the scene. Richmond Fire (heavy) was also called to the scene to assist with pneumatics to extricate

operator#2. Operator#2 sustained a possible fractured wrist as a result of the collision. Troopers remind motorists to always wear their seatbelts to prevent

serious bodily injury and fatal collisions. Had operator#2 not been belted, the injury outcome of this collision would have been far worse. Speed and operator impairment were not contributing factors in this collision.

Operator#1 Frederick was issued a VCVC Pursuant to Title 23 VSA Section 1038 Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic (failure to yield). $220 and 2 points if

convicted.
