SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 05/15/18, at approximately 2226 hours, the St. Johnsbury Fire Department
responded to a report of a structure fire at 319 Crepeault Hill Rd in St.
Johnsbury. This structure is a single family structure belonging to Timothy
Persons.

Upon arrival the fire department encountered the residence fully engulfed with
fire and beginning to collapse. The fire was extinguished, however, the
residence was completely destroyed by the fire.

After his initial assessment of the scene, St. Johnsbury Fire Chief Troy Ruggles
contacted the State of Vermont- Department of Public Safety Fire Investigation
Unit to assist with an Origin and Cause investigation. Detectives from the
Vermont State Police and Assistant Fire Marshalls from the Vermont Division of
Fire Safety responded to the scene in the early morning hours of 05/16/18 to
initiate an Origin/Cause investigation. The cause of the fire remains under
investigation, but is currently classified as "undetermined".

During the course of the investigation badly burned human remains were located,
however, the identity of the victim has not been determined. Efforts continue to
identify the victim.

Persons'vehicle has not been located. The vehicle is described as a green 2005 Dodge Caravan, bearing VT registration GLP263.

information on the whereabouts of Persons or his vehicle is asked to contact
