SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On 04/16/2018 at approximately 1510 hours, VSP Westminster was notified of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 91 in the area of mile marker 49 in the Town of Weathersfield. Troopers responded to the scene and determined that vehicle #1 operated by Crane was traveling northbound on Interstate 91. Crane reported that he was traveling at approximately 50 miles per hour in the travel lane when he hit slush on the edge of the roadway. Crane advised that after he hit the slush, he lost control of his vehicle. Crane advised that his vehicle struck the guard rail on the west of the roadway, crossed both northbound travel lanes and then struck the guard rail on the east side of the roadway.

Crane and his two-year-old passenger were properly restrained and were not injured in this crash. Meuniers towing responded and removed the vehicle.  Crane was issued a written warning for speeds too fast for the existing road conditions, a violation of Title 23 VSA 1081(a).
