VIOLATION:  Reckless Endangerment

ACCUSED:  Paul Pikna

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Bakersfield, VT

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On April 18, 2018 at approximately 0900 hours Troopers assigned to the St. Albans Barracks responded to Hennessey Road in Bakersfield, VT after a report of a man firing a gun in the roadway.  Troopers received conflicting reports during their investigation but they ultimately concluded that 67 year-old Paul Pikna of Bakersfield had fired one round from a 12-gauge shotgun during a dispute with his neighbor.  This round was not fired at the neighbor; however, the act put the neighbor in fear. 

Pikna was placed under arrest for Reckless Endangerment and transported to the St. Albans Barracks for processing.  At the conclusion of the processing, Pikna was released with a citation to appear in Franklin County District Court on 05/14/2018 at 1:00pm to answer the charge.
